How to sell with Sotheby’s®
In order to valuate your furniture or work of art, a team of Sotheby’s® specialists is at your disposal and looks forward to meeting you at your convenience.

Valuation by Sotheby's ® experts

Sotheby’s® expertise covers an extensive range of categories: western, impressionist, modern, contemporary, ancient, African and Oceanian art, wine, jewellery, watches and furniture.
In order to auction your object, Sotheby’s® will first give you an estimate. If you decide to proceed with the sale, a contract will be signed with Sotheby’s® who will take a photograph of the object in order to include it in the catalogue once a reserve price has been agreed.

Sotheby’s® can organize transport of your objects. Following the auction, you will be informed of the hammer price and within 35 days will receive payment.

Sotheby’s® fees

A seller's commission is deducted from the hammer price, together with the agreed costs.
You will set a reserve price for your lot before the sale with a Sotheby's ® expert. This price guarantees a floor price for your object. If the reserve price is not acquired, the work will not be sold. Management fees may be considered for unsold lots.
Payment must be made within 35 days from the date of sale provided that Sotheby's has received full payment from the purchaser.
